Everdearest Xavi,
In the 5 years that you've been my baby, I've probably done more growing up than you have. You've taught me so much about myself, and I appreciate every day that my heart gets to love you. Patience, wisdom, confidence and compassion....you help me expand in every way. And I can only hope that it all helps me be the mama that you need. Your strengths are many, and I hope you continue to grow confident in them. I've seen you push your boundaries, especially this past year. You started school, made new friends., learned so many new things! I've loved discovering all the things you absorb, in the spur of the moment or often in a song. Your memory is incredible, with a solid foundation in complicated dinosaur names. Your teachers are fond of you, and tell us that you've really warmed up in the class setting. You are your own person and make your own decisions. I love that you don't feel the need to follow your friends, while still being loyal and loving. You started dance class this year, and it highlighted a new skill for you! I loved seeing you come out every day, shining with excitement and confidence. I'm glad that you've decided to continue, and am excited to see more of it. You chose ballet/tap, and it will be so much fun to take you to your lessons every week! When it comes to activities, I hope you continue to commit to what interests you most! You are wise in your words, thoughtful in your actions, spontaneous and genuine in your affection. Our conversations are many, and I enjoy them so much. You always leave me with a smile, or something to think about. I know that we can talk through anything. As a parent, our open connection is a most comforting thing. Xavi, it's a pleasure to raise you. True and through all of life's milestones and events, I am amazed at the ways you continue to grow and evolve. Happiest of birthdays, bud. I love you, always and every day - Mama.
